Project description:
Modern industrial strategies are based on specialisations and advanced technologies, including nanotechnology. The established industrial tradition needs to make a qualitative leap forward in order to meet the challenges posed by global society. At the same time, a series of research centres have already acquired skills in emerging technologies. The aim of the NANO-REGION project is to connect existing nanotechnology skills to the needs of the industrial sector. Within its communication activities, the project will help bridge the gap between science and industry in the field of nanotechnology, standardise practices and set up an operational network of laboratories to support the transfer of technology to companies.
The main result of the project is to effectively transfer technology from research centres to companies, which will be able to improve the competitiveness, the level of employment and the economic impact of the local production system. It is expected that the project will increase the number of joint research projects between companies and research centres, create a new scientific-entrepreneurial culture and in the long term substantially increase the turnover of the companies involved.
